Tijs Verwest (17 Ocak 1969, Breda Hollanda) dünyaca ünlü trance DJ`i. Geçmişte birçok takma isim kullanırdı, bunlardan en çok bilineni DJ Tiesto`dur. Son eserlerinde "DJ" etiketini de kaldırmasıyla kısaca Tiësto olarak bilinmeye başladı. En çok Delerium parçası Silence remiksi ve Barber`ın Adagio for Strings yorumuyla bilinir.
1980'lerin başında okul ve ev partileriyle profesyonel DJ'liğe başladı.1985 ve 1993 yılları arasında Hollanda'daki gece kluplerinde residence DJ olarak çalıştı.The Spock adlı kulüp,Tiesto için birçok şeyin şekillendiği yer oldu.Hardcore/Gabber tarzda parçalardan vazgeçerek,bu kulüpte haftasonları saat 22:00'den-04:00'e kadar kendi sound'unu biçimlendirmeye başladı.1990'ların ortalarında Trance müzik imal etmeye başladı ve halen devam etmekte.
Tiesto bu son rumuzunu alana kadar birçok takma isim kullandı.Bunlar;Allure, Da Joker, DJ Limited, Drumfire, Hammock Brothers, Paradise in Dubs, Passenger, Roze, Stray Dog, Tom Ace, ve Wild Bunch olarak sıralanabilir.
Tiesto,Dj Mag okuyucuları tarafından 3 yıl üstüste DJ'lik sıralamasında birinci oldu. (2002-2003-2004)Şu an ise, Armin van Buuren 'den sonra ikinci sırada yer almaktadır.Tiesto en çok kişiye konser veren DJ'lerde başı çekmektedir.Amsterdam'da kapalı alanda 50,000 kişiye,Rio De Jenerio'da ise açık alanda 200,000 kişiye konser vermiştir.Tiesto trance müziğin tavan yaptığı senelerde popüleriteye kavuştuğu için dünya çapında çok daha kolay tanınıp,kitlelere ulaşmıştır.
Ulkesi Hollanda'yi dunyaya tanitmaktaki buyuk katkilarindan dolayi Hollanda Kralicesi tarafindan sovalyelik unvanina layik gorulmustur.

Tiesto ilk kez 10 Mayis 2003'te Hollanda'nin Gelredome stadyumunda 25,000 kisiye canli konser veren bir DJ olarak tarihe gecti. Kendi deyimiyle "bir adam 25,000 kisiye sarki bile soylemeden konser verdi". Iki gecelik toplam 50,000 bileti iki saate tukenen bu konserin DVD'si de son yillarin en cok satan konser DVD'leri arasinda yerini aldi.
Tiesto'nun "IN CONCERT" sovu dunyanin onde gelen yaratici teknoloji dehasi ID&T grubu isbirligi ile hazirlanmis muhtesem bir ses, isik ve multimedya gosterisidir. Tiesto bu konserlerinde 4,5-5 saat sahnede kalir ve hit parcalarinin solistleri canli performanslari ile kendisine sahnede eslik eder.Zaman zaman bulunulan ulkeye ve konserin temasina gore surpriz konuk sov gruplari ve misafir sanatcilara da programda yer verilir.
Tiesto 2007 yilinin Mart ayinda piyasaya verdigi "Elements of Life" albumunun adini tasiyan bir dunya turnesi ile ilk kez bu dev produksiyonu Istanbul dahil olmak uzere onde gelen metropollere tasiyor. "IN CONCERT"in 2007 versiyonunda en buyuk yeniliklerden biri ise dunyada ilk kez uretilen dev bir LED ekran. Amsterdam Schipol Havalimani sponsorlugunda yapilan bu ekran 30m x 18m boyutuna kadar buyutulebiliyor.
